LOS ANGELES, Calif., (March 31, 2005) - Square Enix Co., Ltd. (Square Enix), announced today that they have entered into an exclusive agreement with Nokia Corporation (Nokia) to bring the highly-anticipated BEFORE CRISIS™ - FINAL FANTASY® VII to North America on the N-Gage™ mobile game deck. BEFORE CRISIS - FINAL FANTASY VII was the second announced title in Square Enix's "polymorphic" COMPILATION of FINAL FANTASY® VII. The original FINAL FANTASY VII, first released in 1997 for the Sony PlayStation®, has sold 9 million copies worldwide.

BEFORE CRISIS - FINAL FANTASY VII has proven to be a massive success in Japan since its September 24, 2004 launch on the NTT DoCoMo FOMA900iSeries cellular phone. It is scheduled to be released for the N-Gage during the third quarter of 2005 in a special bundle with the N-Gage's upcoming digital camera attachment.
The Japanese release of BEFORE CRISIS pushed cellular phone technology to its limits, and the new N-Gage version will be one of the most revolutionary titles to ever appear on a portable game console. On the N-Gage, players will be able to use the included digital camera for "Materia Synthesis," and can take full advantage of the Bluetooth wireless technology for the breakthrough "Materia Assistance" system, in which players are connected for cooperative play.
