She thought that it was strange seeing the two of them together. Reeve and Cait Sith walked in step with each other, making the exact same movements. I wonder, thought Elena, what's inside Reeve's head?... Reeve gets to Professor Gast's desk and rolls out the blueprints that were smuggled in the pink Moogle's zippered back. Cait Sith stands on the opposite side of the desk. Elena leans over to look at the incredibly complicated blueprints. As she does so, Reeve and Cait Sith speak simutaneously. Reeve/Cait Sith: You've probably wondered how it is that I can control Cait Sith and the Choco Siths, right? Elena: Well, now that you mention it... Reeve/Cait Sith: Look at this. This is the blueprint for the Left Sith Chip... made with microscopic fibers of Manipulate materia. With this chip (points to right side of head), I can control the Choco Siths. (Reeve and Cait Sith pull off the first blueprint) Reeve/Cait Sith: And this chip is the Right Sith Chip. The fibers on this chip are made with Mime materia. Along with the Left Chip, this one controls Cait Sith. Elena: So wait, these Materia Chips are implanted inside your HEAD?! (Reeve and Cait Sith pull off the second blueprint) Reeve/Cait Sith: But... what's this? The Cerebral Sith Chip? I don't remember... As Reeve reads the notes on the blueprint, he stares out into space and collapses into his chair. Cait Sith's Moogle collapses onto the floor. Elena leans over the blueprints to read them. "Sith Project, subject code R.E.E.V.E. Chip 003, Cerebral Cortex; injected xx/xx/xxxx by Professors Sith and Hojo. Subject expected to experience a complete Memory Restructuring. All past memories will be replaced by new, manufactured ones, as deemed appropriate by the Injector." Elena steps back. It is a long time before anyone speaks. Reeve/Cait Sith: You know, somehow, I've always felt that my life is not how it's supposed to be... Up until now, I've been living a lie... Elena looks at Reeve, shocked as to what she is hearing. Reeve/Cait Sith: ...Who am I? Off to one side of the desk, a box sits untouched. It was given to Cait Sith on his smuggling mission to Midgar by the Shinra Librarian, Mayor Domino, who said to the cat, "Reeve, it's time you knew the truth." Reeve closes his eyes and concentrates; soon, Cait Sith is deactivated. Reeve reaches for the box. ---------- BlueJay posts: 924 (12/7/00 11:19:29 pm) Re: The Sith Project Interesting but.... unsettling. ---------- Reeve posts: 356 (12/8/00 12:40:49 am) "A Modern History of Wutai" ...was the title of the book that was in the box Mayor Domino gave Cait Sith. This was no ordinary book, but the author's original manuscript, before it was edited by the Shinra Department of Propoganda. Reeve sat down in the plush desk chair and invited Elena to sit with him. Together, they turned to the page marked by a ribbon. "Chapter 5: The Wutai Civil War "During the latter part of the Amano Era, the Kisaragi Clan of Ninja had risen up to challenge the house of Amano. Wutai's leader, the young Lord Ryoga Amano, led his Samurai into a long war against the Kisaragis. Unfortunately, the Kisaragi Clan suceeded, and named Godo as the new lord of Wutai..." (Reeve: What does this have to do with me?) (Elena: I think we have to read some more...) "...When Godo turned his sights on conquering the world, Ryoga turned to the fledgling Shinra Electric Power Company to find an ally in his battle to regain control of Wutai..." (Reeve: Interesting...) "...at the turning point of the War, when Shinra's victory was imminent, the Shinra Company double-crossed Ryoga and took him prisoner. The complicated web of deception was made even more tangled when, as it is rumored, Ryoga was turned over to cybernetics pioneer Professor Sith and biologist Professor Hojo..." (Reeve: ...) "...a few years after the War ended, Ryoga and his proud clan of Wutai Samurai were long forgotten. In the meantime, President Shinra announced that the new Head of Urban Development for Shinra, Inc. would be a formerly unknown architect and urban planner named Reeve..." Reeve stood up and slammed the book on the desk. The impact the book made caused a yellowed clipping from the Shinra Times to blow out from between the book's pages. The clipping was dated from seven years ago. It was an article about the capture of Ryoga Amano; apparently he was accused of stealing Shinra's industrial secrets. What interested the President of Blue Shinra more than the text was the photo alongside said article. In the photo, Ryoga was being held captive by a small regiment of SOLDIERs. Reeve looked closely at Ryoga's face. It was his own. - FFVII Citadel MB - RolePlaying Area - Final Fantasy VII Citadel - Powered By ezboard™ Ver. 6.0 b8 © Copyright 1999, 2000, 2001 ezboard, Inc.
