Hidden mikes are picking up some gunfire and a lot of shouting. Nexus is investigating Midgar. Turks survived the blast in the subways with the citizens who followed Reeve. President Shinra has exited the medical facility on the Plate in Sector 3. Assasination attempt has failed. He is heading for Junon to restore order and restart Shinra. AVALANCHE: Most of AVALANCHE has disappeared. Cait Sith was reported heading for Chocobo Farm. Civilians of the world are sad at the presumed loss. It is thought the Highwind crashed when Holy reacted. Cloud sighted: He was sighted by Bluejay himself as he did a patrol sweep in the Redwing. Cloud was on a small sail boat heading for the great Continent. Agents reported to the coast. The boat was there, but Cloud wasn't. There were no foot prints but a small Zodiac Sign was "burned" into the hull itself where Cloud would have been standing. His whereabouts are unknown, but this means there is a possibility of other AVALANCHE survivors. Confusion: During Shinra's "discussions" in Junon, several events have appeared. Small revolutionary groups are taking over mako reactors. Guards have been overwhelmed. Some groups are bombing them, while others seem to be running them in an attempt to start a mako company of their own. As for the AVALANCHE members, I suffered a bit of a concussion (internal memory/communication circuits crossed) when the Highwind was thrown off course, so my memory's a bit fuzzy right now. As Reeve: I am well, here in Kalm with many of Midgar's residents. All of the Turks are here with me as well. Rumors have spread across the planet. Some say Rufus is back. Others say some lost cousin. It is unknown what Shinra will do about the revolts across the land. Cait Sith sighted: It is unknown what Reeve's intentions are at this point. The Nexus is investigating how much power he has in Shinra and with the population. Some officers have reported Cait Sith's alligence with AVALANCHE, but it is unclear what the President feels. Agents have been assigned to investigate this concern. Nexus Casualties: 4 agents(code names classified) have been killed in the past few days. 2 were killed by Shinra in Junon. 1 was killed in a riot in Corel. The others location is classified. BlueJay is discontent with Shinra with these events. All other details are classified. Nell Corps: The 5 Shinra guards at the Corel reactor are dead. Corel residents have siezed control of the reactor.... Agent: This is Agent Number (classified). Nell has attacked the reactor, here at Corel. *small explosion, static* Remaining guards shut down the reactor. Nell's troops have taken over the lower... (gunfire, static*... vels. The reactor has just gone back online. He appears to be trying to figure out how it works. Soldier's Voice: Hey! Get over here! We only have two enemy soldiers left! We will be rich when tis is over! The Turks and I had planned to confront President Shinra, but a riot broke out between the Midgarites that were with us and Junon's troops. After reading your last missive, I realized what I had to do in Junon. I accessed the Emergency Remote Reactor Shutdown controls hidden deep within Junon's offices and effectively shut down the Corel and Condor reactors. I attempted to shut Nibelheim down as well but there was no response. Besides, the Huge Materia for these reactors are still in Cosmo Canyon, which means that the Reactors are pretty useless as it is. Hopefully this will quell the rebel takeovers. Speaking of materia, Barret was recently found on the shores of Junon by a townsperson named Pricilla. Any materia which he had equipped was gone. He said something about Yuffie having mysteriously disappeared after the battle against Sephiroth. I have sent Elena and Reno to Wutai to investigate this matter. Finally, the presidential elections didn't occur, due to the rioting; many of the Midgarites wanted to elect *me* to the position, but I am more concerned at the moment with averting any conflict with Wutai. Our military is in a state of disarray without any solid leadership. Rufus' body arrived yesterday along with Scarlett and Heidegger's remains, and neither President Shinra nor Tseng have fully recovered from their wounds. Godo is doubtless aware of our situation and, if Yuffie makes it back to Wutai with all of AVALANCHE's materia, will use it to his advantage. If the Nexus could lend any support in case of a possible Wutai conflict (whether or not I'm still with Shinra), I will make it worth your while. The Corel reactor is up. The agent there has not reported in for some time. I believe he is dead. Further info cannot be obtained for the time being. Other revolts across the planet are causing havoc everywhere. I am hiring back all old workers and hiring new executives not only with more benefits and a better medical plan, but with higher pay as well. Also, all SOLDIERs are urged to return to the Junon military base at once. In Shinra, Inc. news, as soon as we have re-hired all old workers and new ones, construction on a new Junon Super Canon and construction on Midgar will begin. The Weapons Development Department will start to mass-produce Proud Clod mobile robot units for the Peace Preservation force, as well. Our aims are to rebuild Shinra from the ground up, and to supply safer alternatives to Mako-generated power. My primary concern with Wutai is that Shinra's vast technological knowledge might fall into the wrong hands. Cait Sith and Rude were dispatched to Corel with a regiment of SOLDIERs to take care of the current situation with Nell. Total destruction of the North Corel Reactor is being considered... I am on my way to the east continent, though I can't say exactly where; I do hope to make contact with Cloud and Cid and gain their allegiance. A group of President Shinra's loyalists have caught on to my plans and are seeking me out. Will check in later. The bush is flung away as several men with swords race down the path. The night sky is crimson overhead, and a plume of smoke rises in the air. The camera follows, carried by an unknown person. The men stop as they look on a village of tents, all ablaze. They run past the town, and down a railroad track over a bridge. Several sentries run toward them. The sentries were cut down where they stood. The men continued on. They reach a hill where they once again stand silent. A well lit mako reactor stands in the middle of a gigantic pit. Fires are all around it. They look up. An incredible aircraft comes about on the reactor. Two bursts of light blast from the underside of the craft. They hit the reactor dead on. Vital pumbs are hit and pure mako rips the structure apart and blow any survivors back. The building melts into the mako pit below. The screen goes black. State of Shinra: Shinra has been split into two factions. One led by Reeve, the other by President Shinra himself. Due to the unstable nature of this situation, all other details are witheld. Revolutionary actions: A small Shinra base in the southest part of the Great Continent was attacked by Gongaga citizens earlier today. The base was occupied by 30 Mps, 4 Attack Squads, and was commanded by 3 Senior Grunts. Two Death Machines and 3 Cromwells were backup. The only idea as to why the base fell to such a weak force is due to the confusion within Shinra at this time. Gongaga residents also set charges in the ruined local reactor. It was decimated further, sealing a small mako stream trickling from inside the Earth, causing medical problems in local residents. Former residents of Rocket Town took the Nibel reactor earlier today. Reeve's shut down command had locked it down, but they are attempting to start it. Probably in an attempt to sell the energy. A Nexus agent there is hampering their efforts at this time. All details on the Condor Mountains revolt are witheld. Wutai?: An Agent has sighted Cid in Rocket Town. Using her superior skills in spying, she has found vital evidence on some of AVALANCHE's whereabouts. Yuffie has taken most of the materia to Wutai. A conflict between Wutai and Shinra is very likely now. Agent Number(classified) has been withdrawn for not finding Yuffie here earlier. Cid also seems to believe Nanaki has returned to Cosmo Canyon. 3 Agents there still report he has not been sighted. BlueJay himself will investigate this further. Security: Due to the situations starting now, security will tighten to ensure the Planet's safety. ---------- Tseng posts: 7 (11/5/00 3:23:33 pm) Back in... Tseng pulls himself out of the debris scattered from the site of the former Corel reactor, burnt but otherwise uninjured. "That's the last thing we need right now..." he mumbles to himself as he begins to climb up the rough mountain ledge to the north. ---------- Reeve posts: 162 (11/5/00 9:19:55 pm) The Light in Jenova's Room Deep in the Nibel mountains, residents of Rocket Town storm the local Mako Reactor. Running only on backup Mako, the Reactor is in fair shape as the people storm the building. They make their way to the main control center when they come across a group of Nibelheim residents. A dispute breaks out, talking turns to shouting and things start to get violent. A shot is fired; the shot ricoches into a lightbulb, casting darkness on the villagers. Another shot is fired; a shot which punctures one of the Mako cells. The cell opens and a monster crawls out. Startled and frightened, the villagers freeze in their tracks. The monster begins to glow, ready to let out a powerful destructive spell when suddenly, an Ice 3 spell is cast on the monster by a large round figure standing in the shadows by Jenova's door. The monster vanishes. The villagers turn their heads toward Jenova's door. It opens, streaming bright light into the room. An imposing figure in a long black cloak stands in the doorway, his black boots shining in the light. His sharp chin turns toward the giant purple Moogle stationed by the door; he nods, and the Moogle walks off and disappears. In this cloaked figure's hand is cluched a legendary weapon, yes, it's the... Starlight Phone. "I forgot how cold Mt. Nibel was", said Reeve, dressed in a long black trenchcoat, shivering as he walked down the steps. Following him from Jenova's room were Elder Bughe, an engineer from Rocket Town, and a former Shinra Manager. He looked toward the stunned crowd and smiled as the Moogle switched on the backup lanterns. "I know that many of you are aware of the current chaotic state Shinra is in", Reeve stated. "I am here, because I want to offer everyone freedom from President Shinra's oppression. With some help from the Turk Alliance, and hopefully, with *your* help, I will be able to beat Shinra at it's own game. There are better ways to live than with Mako." Reeve scans the crowd, looking for their response. He sees Elena entering from the rear. Reeve continues. "I know that it's hard to imagine life without Mako. But surely, many of you remember when the land around Midgar was green, when there were fish in the ocean near Junon, and when this very mountain was teeming with life. But things aren't like that anymore, and it's all due to the exploitation of Mako. Shinra has also exploited its resources in other ways, in promising us the world, and coming up short. You residents of Rocket Town surely remember the Space Program; you were promised steady employment. That is, until Shinra realized how profitable Mako was and cancelled the program." A voice came forth from the crowd. "So what? The rocket got launched anyway, and, besides, the Captain is missing. What else are we to do now? All we've got left is Mako." Elena spoke up. "If you mean Cid Highwind, then he is alive and well." The crowd from Rocket Town looked in her direction. Reeve's eyes widened. Cid was alive... "Where is he?" "Wutai. I didn't get a chance to speak to him. The guys at Turtle's Paradise said he was building a plane and planning to leave shortly." Reeve was silent. He scanned the crowd again. "I have to leave shortly, but if anyone would like to be a part of the future of Shinra, and the Planet, these gentlemen here", Reeve motions to the three men behind him, "will gladly answer any questions." Reeve walks through the bustling crowd toward Elena. A question is shouted in his direction. "Did you go to Cosmo Canyon? Is Red XIII there?" "I have been to Cosmo to consult with the elders; no one there has seen or heard about Nanaki." Reeve turns toward the questioner, but sees no one. Nexus..., Reeve thinks. Reeve leaves the Reactor with Elena. "We need to find Cid, but first, I need a drink. It's been a long week." An alarm sounds as several shrouded figures scury about. "Find it! Find it!" one of them shout. "You three over here! You, get over there!" Four of them run down one way. The last one turns and walks up to the camera. He looks around. And smiles into the camera. "He he. It's not here." Suddenly a fist fills the view. "Augh!" the man yells as he falls away from our sight. A man in a blue helmet looks down at him. "You had your chan..."*static*, the figure says before he knocks the camera out. He is being held captive in a former Shinra base that has been overrun by Gongaga residents. They want a ransom we believe. Nexus resources are stretched to the limit so a covert operation is not possible right now by us. Unless, you provide us with 500,000 gil, we will get him out of there. Of course, we can provide base plans to you for free if you want to attempt it by yourself. They have him ransomed for 3,000,000 gil. You decide what to do. We think they're intentions are to gain money and assault Shinra directly.
